What's Involved In Going Bespoke?
We believe the process of commissioning a bespoke piece of jewellery should be fun, relaxed and easy. It can seem like a daunting task, so we thought we'd break down the experience you'd have with us to make life a bit easier.
What to expect?
The first point of contact is booking in for an appointment at our cosy boutique store in Marylebone, London. We're happy to accommodate walk-ins, but to get the most out of your appointment (and to ensure our availability) we recommend emailing or calling us ahead of time. This appointment is commitment free. There's no pressure to make decisions or put down deposits, just an opportunity to talk through ideas and see what we do.
Here you'll chat with our award-winning designers, Alexander and Lottie. As trained jewellers, they will be with you from start to finish of your project, as between the two of them, they design and make everything in our on-site workshop. This means you'll be in the best of hands right from the get go, and speak to friendly people who understand every facet of the project.
Designing
Once we'e got an idea of what you're looking for, we start designing. It doesn't matter if you're dead set on a specific vision or haven't the foggiest where to start - we have plenty of ideas! In approximately 1 week we will come up with some initial designs and quotes to send you for review. Based on your feedback we will finesse and tweak the design, creating as many iterations as needed to get it perfect. During this process we will source top quality gemstones to suit your prospective piece. At this point, it's great fun to come in to view all the options in person and really make an informed choice. Once you've made your decisions and found the perfect design, we ask for a 50% deposit, and we get cracking!

Time for the vision to become reality! Having spoken directly to the people who will make the piece, you can rest assured we know exactly how you're envisioning it.
For some jobs, we'll utilise our Rapid Prototyping capabilities, and 3D print a plastic model for you to view. This is particularly useful for getting a perfect fit.
Alternatively, we may ask you to come in for a fitting before any stones have been set, particularly for pieces like Full Eternity rings which are not always possible to resize after they are set.
Collecting
After 4-6 weeks of meticulous hand crafting, you're piece is ready! At this point, we ask for the rest of the payment, and arrange collection or delivery, which we offer worldwide.
Every purchase comes beautifully presented in luxury branded boxes for safe keeping.
There is no greater pleasure for us than seeing a customer's face light up upon meeting their dream jewellery piece. If you want this to be you, please get in touch to start your Alexander Davis experience.
Our bespoke creations garnered us the award of Jewellery Designer Of The Year 2017-2018 at the UK Jewellery Awards, and Lonmin Design Innovation Awards in 2010, 2011, and 2012.
